North Jersey Railfanning Blitz!! NYSW, CSX, NS, Conrail, NJT, and Amtrak Trains around Newark, NJ!

On February 1st, we didn’t really have a plan for the day, so we went to Ridgefield Park and decided to see where the day took us. NYSW and CSX action was very good in the late morning, with the highlights being WS-1 with a NYC-Sticker CSX GP40-2 leading and Q262 with a SD70MAC trailing. After seeing Q262 we heard about NS 294 coming with an SD70ACC leading, one of my favorite units. We decided to intercept at CP-RON where the Port Reading and Garden State Secondaries meet. We got very lucky at RON, as in addition to 294 we caught JR-5 drilling the Port Reading Yard with 3 NS/CSX Geeps and also PR-85 shoving a loaded ethanol train into Motiva in Sewaren, NJ with more NS power. After seeing this action, we decided to head over to North Elizabeth on the NEC to try our luck there... turns we were incredibly lucky as the first train to pass had NJT 4636, the PRR Heritage ALP-46, leading! The shot, however, was not what I wanted as it was a surprise, so we ended up staying for a couple hours waiting for it on the return trip to Trenton, which we got a much better shot of! While waiting, we saw lots of Amtrak and NJT action as well! Overall, it was a fun, diverse day of railfanning in the Garden State!
