Reflection: Today’s reading reminds us of the value of honour, humility, and seeking God’s direction. In 2 Samuel, David responds to Saul and Jonathan’s death with sincere grief, showing us the importance of respecting even those who have opposed us. His heart was not filled with revenge but with compassion. When it was time to move forward, David did not rely on his own ideas, he asked the Lord for guidance, and God clearly directed his steps. This encourages us to always seek God before making decisions. In John, Jesus speaks about His purpose, reminding us that following Him sometimes requires sacrifice, but it leads to true life. God calls us to walk in His light while we have the chance. The Psalms remind us that God is our righteous King who opens the gates of His presence to those who trust Him, and Proverbs teaches us to avoid greed and to speak with understanding. Altogether, today’s reading encourages us to honour others, follow God’s guidance, walk in His light, and keep our hearts humble and full of truth.
