Am Heyrovský-Platz, benannt nach dem tschechischen Nobelpreisträger und Chemiker Jaroslav Heyrovský, steht das Denkmal für Otto Wichterle – den Erfinder der Kontaktlinsen und des Kunstfasermaterials Silon. Die feinen “Fasern” des Denkmals tragen die Nummern seiner rund 150 Patente.

🇬🇧 Once again under the motto: „Guess what I found…“ 🤩 Chemistry that changed the world.
At Heyrovský Square, named after the Czech Nobel Prize-winning chemist Jaroslav Heyrovský, stands the monument to Otto Wichterle – inventor of contact lenses and the synthetic fiber Silon. The delicate “fibers” of the monument display the numbers of his approximately 150 patents.
