NOT FOR SALE. My 1989 Ford F350 7.3L IDI Diesel (part 1) - NOT FOR SALE

This is my 2wd Mississippi truck that I bought to keep personally. It was in Mississippi until 2013 when it came to southern Ohio. I went down by Athens Ohio and bought it. Looks, runs & drives great! Clean rust free straight body & good original paint with minor clear coat issues. Good AC & heat. The brakes and suspension are great & it handles better than most of the 2001-2006 Super Duty trucks I sell off my car lot! Interior is original & incredibly clean. No stains, no smells, never smoked in. Clean title. 121,718 actual miles as of 9/12/2020.

This is the IDI (indirect injection) 7.3L diesel with mechanical fuel pump & mechanical fuel injection. No computers anywhere (so bring on the solar flares & EMPs- Seriously I love how inexpensive this is to work on compared to a powerstroke - Great bug-out truck!) It has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge installed for some reason but the stock gauge works too as well as all the other gauges. The four rear tires were put on at 116k miles (08/2015) & looks great, the two front tires were put on Sept 2016 & are still like excellent. New radius arm bushing assemblies were installed Jan 2016 at the same time the Reese Class 5 hitch receiver & wiring harness was installed. The dual exhaust system was installed in June 2016 and is still like new plus at that time it was retrofitted to R134a air conditioning. The truck also has a heavy duty steel rear window guard (headache rack) with integrated tail lights & signals, and stainless steel running boards. It was used in the past to tow a gooseneck trailer & still has the wiring in place for that too. This truck has never been driven in the snow and salt, and the underneath is astoundingly clean. You shine a light up there & you can still see the factory paint. The bed rails, frame, lines, even the fuel tank straps are not rusty. Super clean even on the bumpers. Both fuel tanks work. The interior is a custom coach design with wood trim and upper indirect lighting like a conversion van. Plush comfortable seats that don’t even look old even though they’re the originals. And I love this- It has Longhorn insignia mud flaps & a hood ornament that looks like a cowboy’s arm holding up his hat while bull riding in a rodeo!

The only potential weakness in these old International 7.3L & the older 6.9L diesels were the possibility of cavitation damage. I was sure to cover this with the owner before I bought it for myself. The coolant was treated years ago but he drained the cooling system & flushed it in 2015 and had fresh anti-cavitation EC-1 used. Also- Since I'm always obsessing about whatever I'm into at the moment, I bought a new glow plug temp sensor & switch, and new Wellman self-regulating glow plugs that burn 100 degrees hotter than stock and heat up 20% faster & had them installed in Mar 2017. I also had a complete new clutch kit and clutch master cylinder installed because I thought the pedal felt hard & the clutch rattled sometimes. Also New NAPA internal voltage regulator alternator for better charging (compatible with a '95 F350 7.3) and all of the belts were replaced for the sake of regular maintenance. (No more squeaky belts) I then had the carrier bearing & u-joint replaced 11/13/17 (the other u-joints looked like they were recently done before I got the truck). The power steering gearbox as replaced on 5/11/2018 for $465.00. I had a Kenwood bluetooth stereo (with phone) & powerful Kicker speakers, and all new Monroe shocks installed in Aug 2019. I installed a new starter on 7/6/2020 w/ lifetime warranty & has the cooling system flushed again with new antifreeze + anti cav EC-1 put in. I'm still loving & obsessing about this truck!
