While there have been few concrete updates related to the story of the Joker sequel, the new Joker: Folie à Deux image shared by Phillips teases that Arthur will be continuing his attempt to escape Arkham, as he is clearly seen outside in the image. Joker will have the help of Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn, with Joker: Folie à Deux set videos of Arkham Asylum on fire revealing that the two will be successful.

As one of the world's most famous singers, Gaga will play a major role in Joker: Folie à Deux, as the upcoming DC movie has been confirmed to be a musical. Phillips' Joker: Folie à Deux image seems to be part of a musical sequence, with Arthur's wistful expression as rain pours and all the men with colorful umbrellas pointing in that direction. The scene appears to show a more profound look at Arthur's emotional state, and Joker: Folie à Deux's musical genre allows the movie to dive deeper into its lead character's psyche.
