Video 7 - Glass Transition Temperature of Polymers (Tg)

Amorphous polymers typically don't melt at one given temperature, instead they soften over a range of temperatures. This is the Tg or glass transition temperature which is the temperature below which the polymer is hard and brittle and above it the polymer is soft and flexible. It's crucial to know the Tg of a polymer to ensure it has the correct properties that its designed for under the temperatures it will be exposed to in use.
