Svara Shiksha

Svara Shiksha is one of the source texts of Vedic phonology. It has shared verses with 23 other Shiksha texts, including Shiksha belonging to all the four Vedas. It has unique characteristics such as a discussion of the totality of Vedic speech, called Shabda Brahm. It emphasizes the importance of silence for the expression of the dynamism of speech. It's primary focus is the pronunciation of the four Vedic pitch accents. There are 36 main Shiksha, correlated by Dr. Tony Nader with the 36 autonomic ganglia along the spine: This Shiksha may play a fundamental role in the organization and layout of the Shiksha, as evidenced by its 35 verses, the same in number as the remaining Shiksha. This Shiksha is now published online on mum.edu/vedicreserve
