Bellagio Penthouse Suite Thanksgiving 2020

Wow. After a really poor experience with Bellagio service in the Cypress Suite in July, I gave em another try because they gave me this room almost free for the holiday week, and I was glad I did. Service was much better and I really loved my time spent in this room. Will definitely jump on the chance to stay in one of these again if they give me another casino offer as generous as I got for Thanksgiving!

After watching through this video, a few things I missed when narrating that are worth a mention: The reason I spent a second at the work desk is that in non-pandemic times, there was a big fancy leather thing in the drawer full of fancy pens and stationary that are pretty cool, but it's one of the things they nixed due to covid I guess.

The TV in the living room has a DVR built in, which I'm sure exists in some other hotels but that's the only place I've ever noticed it. We were there for thanksgiving and wanted to watch some of the classic Christmas movies but obviously we weren't going to let that interfere with Vegas time. I was able to set the TV to record a movie and play it back when we got back to the room for the evening after dinner and sharing some time with friends in the casino, so that was a neat little touch. And you can see it in the video but I didnt point out, the TV in the bedroom also has the same AV access panel as the one I showed in the living room.

The phones in the penthouse suite are cordless phones with speaker phones built in
to the base unit! I hadn't seen one of those in years and felt old when I called the concierge and couldnt figure it out, so I sat at the desk and used the speaker phone lol

Also, I mentioned the freezer thing in the fridge at the wet bar, but neglected to mention that is an ice maker built in, so you get fresh ice in this room without walking down the hall to the industrial ice machine (which still exists on the suite floors). They leave them turned off but you can turn them on when you get in the room.

Lastly, this room is on the upper suite levels where the hallway decor is different, and there is an elevator bank that only goes to the villas and upper suites, and requires room key to activate, so the elevator service is much quicker and less waiting than normal Bellagio rooms, which is always a plus but an even bigger plus during covid capacity restrictions.

And tiny unimportant thing - this is the only hotel I've stayed in where I noticed the bathrobes actually came in a male version in the his bathroom and a female version in the hers bathroom that are shaped differently and the hers robe had no pockets! Whyyyyy?!??!
