An actor whose Hawaiian name means “Cool breeze over the mountain”, Keanu is part English, Hawaiian and Chinese, but was born in Lebanon! Inscrutable, handsome and very private, he has let his films do the talking for him, choosing a mix of blockbusters such as Speed and the Matrix trilogy with smaller, independent films with anedge, such as Feeling Minnesota and Constantine. But early in his career he veered between comedy (Bill and Tedʼs Excellent Adventure) and action (Chain Reaction). Occasionally criticized for his “wooden” acting, Keanu nevertheless has forged on, defying his critics time and time again, not so much for his acting chops, but for his choice of films, most notably The Matrix.
