Who is Emmad Irfani

Emmad Irfani is a Pakistani actor and former model who began his career in the fashion industry before transitioning into television and film. He has appeared in leading roles in popular TV serials across major Pakistani entertainment networks including Geo Entertainment, ARY Digital, and Hum TV. As a fashion model, he has also worked with numerous national and international brands.

Born of Punjabi–Kashmiri descent, Emmad Irfani comes from a family with a military background and has lived in various parts of Pakistan due to his father’s postings before the family eventually settled in Lahore. He completed his graduation and master’s degree from Lahore. His great-grandmother was the sister of the renowned philosopher-poet Muhammad Iqbal, widely regarded as the spiritual founder of Pakistan. Filmmaker Farjad Nabi is also his cousin, highlighting his family’s strong artistic and intellectual connections.

In 2010, Emmad Irfani married fashion designer Maryam Shafaat, whose sister is model Amina Shafaat. The couple has a daughter and previously had a son named Zaviyar, who tragically passed away at a young age in 2023 due to an accident.

Emmad Irfani’s modelling career began in 2000 when he was encouraged by his aunt to enter the field. He quickly gained recognition and went on to win the Best Male Model award at the Lux Style Awards as well as MTV Pakistan Style Awards. He was also nominated in subsequent years, including 2006 and 2007, establishing himself as one of Pakistan’s leading male models.

Inspired by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, he shifted his focus toward acting in 2013. Since then, he has worked in numerous television dramas across Geo TV, ARY Digital, and Hum TV. His notable TV projects include “Aasmanon Pay Likha” (2013), “Dil Nahi Manta” (2014), “Ranjish Hi Sahi” (2014), “Shikwa” (2014), “Sehra Main Safar” (2015), “Aik Thi Misaal” (2015), “Saya-e-Dewar Bhi Nahi” (2016), “Baba Ki Rani” (2016), “Sanam” (2016), “Kuch Na Kaho” (2016), “Woh Aik Pal” (2017), “Titli” (2017), “Mah-e-Tamaam” (2018), “Tawaan” (2018), “Maryam Periera” (2018), “Cheekh” (2019), “Jalan” (2020), “Ek Jhoota Lafz Mohabbat” (2021), “Jaan-e-Jahan” (2023), “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” (2024), and “Kafeel” (2025).

In film, Emmad Irfani made his debut with a cameo appearance in “7 Din Mohabbat In” (2018), directed by his cousin Farjad Nabi, where he played the character Faadi. He is also set to appear in the upcoming film “Aasmaan Bolay Ga” directed by Shoaib Mansoor, in which he plays Squadron Leader Hasan Siddiqui.

His telefilm work includes “Thoda Pyaar Zyada Love” (2014), “Tujh Se Naam Hamara” (2015), and “Lockdown” (2021), while his web series appearance includes “Mind Games” (2022), where he played Jibran.

Throughout his career, Emmad Irfani has received recognition for his performances and modelling. He won the Best Model – Male award at the 4th Lux Style Awards in 2005 and was nominated in 2006 and 2007. More recently, he received a nomination at the 2nd Kya Drama Hai Icon Awards in 2025 for Best Performance in a Negative Role (Critics’ Choice) for his role in “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.”
