Measuring Decibels Using HTC Sound Level Meter SL-1352!

Loudness of sound is measured in Decibels using sound level meters commonly expressed in two types of weighted graphs namely dBA and dBC, former gives higher weights to frequencies humans are more sensitive at hearing, while later measures sound pressure by keeping all frequencies at a flat curve.

Sound level meters are extensively by various industries. It is not rare to see police measuring loudness of exhaust systems of vehicles to ensure that illegal modifications can be caught.

Similarly many factories by law are required to keep sound levels within their boundaries below a specified limit. Prolonged exposure to higher than normal noise levels not only damages hearing but also causes health issues such at hypertension, irritability, migraine, etc. as well.
