Within Mortal Kombat, it would seem to be the case that most of the popular characters are those who were featured in the first three games. Those three represent the franchise in its "first heyday", its first period of prominence, when it gained notoriety for its blood and brutality and everything else that made Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat.

But sometimes there are characters who are able to break through and command a following despite not being a part of that group. We can see this in Kenshi, whom we will further discuss in our video on the Full Story of Kenshi.
