BeeKeeper - MCP Server & Using AI (Start to Finish)

Pulling answers out of your books usually means exporting a CSV, building a report, or scrolling through transaction history until you find what you need. BeeKeeper's MCP server cuts that out. This video walks through what the MCP server does, what you can ask, and the read-only setup that keeps your data safe.

You'll see how to connect the AI tool of your choice, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude, directly to your BeeKeeper instance. Once connected, your AI can see and analyze your financial data and answer plain-English questions about it. Setup is a one-time configuration, and once it's done, the connection stays in place.

The most important detail: the connection is read-only. Your AI can pull data, run analysis, and answer questions, but it cannot change anything in BeeKeeper. No accidental edits, no risk to your books. A few examples from the video to give you a sense of what to ask: How much did we spend on the fall carnival last year? What are our top five expense categories year to date? Which vendors are getting close to the 1099-NEC threshold? Did we go over budget on any programs last month?
