38 Special Live At Winterland 1977

This is an early concert of 38 Special - Recorded live on May 14, 1977 at Bill Graham's legendary Winterland Ballroom (San Francisco, CA). This was shortly before they released their debut album "38 Special."

It's amazing how much 38 Special changed over the years, but I continued to love them. Obviously here; Donnie Van Zant sings almost all of the lead vocals and sounds a lot like his older brother Ronnie. The band also has a real Lynyrd Skynyrd vibe. There is a huge contrast between this, and how 38 Special sounded in the 1980's. Either way, all of their material is incredible.

I just wish Donnie and Larry were well enough to perform with them these days, and find a way to add Jeff Carlisi back into the mix along beside Don and Danny.
