Build a Solid Walnut Dining Table with Equalizer Slides

In this video I Build a Solid Walnut Dining Table with Equalizer Slides. Top is 1 1/2" thick solid walnut. Made tapered table legs from 2 1/2" square walnut material as well. The top was made in a 3 step glue-up process. I made my own table leaf guides with rack and pinion system. This is an "equalizer" type slide that can be open from one side by one person. Table is mounted on a rectangular pedestal base that doesn't move when table is opened to remove or insert the 20" wide leaf. It is much easier to buy the table slides than to make them.Table measures 42" wide X 60" long without leaf. Natural oil finish from Minwax coated with a two part catalyzed conversion varnish. Catalyzed varnish is extremely durable and holds up better than a lacquer finish. #walnuttable
