Design Indaba Classic: David Adjaye, Starchitect

Renowned architect David Adjaye was named among Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2017.

Having earned the title of "starchitect," designer David Adjaye has spent his career designing homes as part of private commissions as well as much later, public projects, with a certain affinity for the interplay of light peppering his designs.

He was recently the only architect named among Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2017. This comes after he completed the career-defining Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC, won the London Design Medal and received a knighthood.
