Alka Seltzer tablets dissolve in water. The hydrogen ions in water react with the sodium bicarbonate in the tablet. This chemical reaction creates carbon dioxide, which causes bubbles to form in the water. When an Alka Seltzer tablet that is painted with 786 Cosmetics halal nail polish and allowed to dry is dropped in a container of water, bubbles will begin to form as the water is permeating through the nail polish to get to the Alka Seltzer tablet, proving the water permeability of the 786 Cosmetics halal nail polish.
