Above the Swamp: West Lake Trail in Everglades National Park

In this under 5-minute video, we'll hike the West Lake Boardwalk Trail in the Everglades National Park. This trail is a great introduction to the Everglades and is perfect for beginners. This self-guided boardwalk trail wanders through a forest of white mangrove (Laguncularia racemosa), black mangrove (Avicennia nitida), red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle), and buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus) trees to the edge of West Lake.

After hiking the West Lake Boardwalk Trail, you'll be able to see all sorts of wild animals in their natural habitat. Be sure to bring your camera along to capture all the beautiful scenery!
