On March 15th, the Rational Space Network hosted a debate between myself and trans activist, Julie Rei Goldstein, as part of their Critical Thinking Series at Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB. Panelists addressed the question: Does Trans Activism Negatively Impact Women's Rights?

This was the first event of this kind to ever happen at a Canadian university, or, indeed, in North America. To date, a debate between a feminist and trans activist had never been held before. Hopefully this sets a precedent.

The debate was organized by Frances Widdowson and moderated by Peter Zizler and was supported by The Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship (www.safs.ca); Faculty of Arts Endeavour Fund (Mount Royal University); and the Department of Economics, Justice and Policy Studies' Innovation Fund (Mount Royal University).
