TNT Show. Ep 143. With guest Emma Walker, former Interim Chief Executive for Scottish Lib Democrats.

Emma Walker moved to Scotland in 2007. She was the first Chief Executive at Craft Scotland, and was invited to become a Cultural Ambassador for Scotland with Scottish Government in the USA. After her son was born, she became an unpaid carer to her parents and set up a freelance consultancy. During this time, she met lots of women who had lost their jobs after becoming a parent. Emma set up Mother's Work, a project which explored the systematic discrimination of women in Scottish workplaces.

In 2018 she became a member of Scottish Liberal Democrats. Within a year, Emma was mental health spokesperson. Six months later she was headhunted into the role of Chief of Staff to Sheila Ritchie MEP before becoming Interim Chief Executive for Scottish Liberal Democrats. Her experiences during this time led her to walk away from her ambitions to run for Holyrood and she became a whistleblower.

After two years of trying to be heard, Emma was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in July 2022. After undergoing treatment, she quit her job as Chief Executive of a social care charity in March 2023 so that she could fully commit to her campaign for an independent investigation into Scottish Liberal Democrats. Emma is now a freelance consultant.
