We all know a Superman film reboot in the DCEU is coming. The Justice League Snydercut showcasing Zack Snyder's complete vision has arrived, and the soft reset of the DC Extended Universe is just around the corner with The Flash movie by Andy Muschietti due out in 2022. It’s only a matter of time…

…So in this video I will try to explain why Warner should quit it with the Jesus references (which, let’s be honest, are all over Richard Donner’s 1978 Superman, Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns, and Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League)… and start modeling a new Clark Kent / Superman reboot origin story around that of Moses, and movies like The 10 Commandments and The Prince of Egypt.

How unifying and... empowering would it be to have a Superman movie that is thematically centered around the concept of a “Reverse Moses?” And by that I mean the idea that the family you choose, and the noble ideals they have instilled in you, are so much more important than bloodlines or genetics or any of that nonsense that you don’t get to pick in life.

I can think of a couple superhero movies that are that thematically deep... but not many. I mean… I’d watch it.
