The Problem With Secret Repentance and Public Denial

A public denial and a private plea for forgiveness cannot easily coexist without raising serious questions. If a person truly believes he has done nothing wrong, why seek God’s forgiveness for that very act? Genuine repentance is more than a private prayer—it is a commitment to truth. The public may not know every detail, but God does. And while people can be misled, the truth remains unchanged. True integrity begins when words, actions, and conscience are no longer at war with one another.
