Choosing to Care -- a Tisha B'Av shiur by Rabbi Yissocher Frand
Rabbi Frand's presentation, Choosing to Care, is an excerpt from the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation's 2013 worldwide Tisha B'av video event, entitled Step by
Step.
The Adams Street Shul presents this video by the kind permission of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation.
Rabbi Yissocher Frand, a maggid shiur in Yeshivas Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, Maryland, has given hundreds of lectures over the past decades. Here he shines a bright light on one aspect of the mitzvah of Klal Yisroel, "nosei ohl b'chaveiro, "bearing the yoke" of another's burden.
Beginning with a discussion of Tu B'Av and Tisha B'Av, Rabbi Frand derives an original perspective on one paramount middah of HaShem, Rabbi Frand then demonstrates with practical examples how the power of human imagination, yoked in the service of walking in HaShem's ways, can transform interpersonal relations and alter the perception of reality by those we interact with.
Founded in 1989, the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation develops innovative methods of promoting the Torah's wisdom on human relations and personal development, increasing goodness and compassion in the world.
