Five years ago I released a mashup album combining the musical stylings of Kanye West and Weezer. And then a lot of people listened. When I originally created the project, record labels hadn't fully caught up to the idea of streaming and were overprotective of their artists's catalogue being uploaded to platforms like Youtube even through mashups. So despite approval from Weezer's team (as well as some people connected to Kanye's camp), unfortunately the most common question about "Yeezer" ended up being: "Where can I listen to this?" Thankfully now, Youtube copyright rules are a lot more consumer-friendly, so Yeezer can finally find a home here for its fifth anniversary. Of course, come to find it's already been re-uploaded by a couple other people lol (which I am flattered by!)

Admittedly, I had to go back and tweak a couple things. I couldn't resist. The initial idea was to just clean the mix up a little bit. What ended up happening was me having to recreate every single track again because I lost the original files lol. At the risk of George Lucas-ing it, I tried restraining myself and only added things I wished I had done the first time around. Or removing the "overproduction" on some of the tracks, which I think was taking away what people liked about those original songs to begin with. And also some *subtle* new ideas that were only possible after the original release of the album. Speaking of which, attached at the end is a bonus track that I made as a nice little rerelease gift. Combining "Feels like Summer" and "Otis", I'd argue it's the best song of the entire project.
