Mario Kart 64 was responsible for many things. Providing hours of entertainment, expanding my swearing vocabulary, getting in fights with my brother, and after all these years its time to sit down and revisit it. The game has not aged well, and it's been said by the developers themselves. The hardware of the Nintendo 64 at the time couldn't handle the amount of full 3D assets on the screen, so there's shortcuts with pseudo-3D models and other effects. But the gameplay is as fun as always, and though its had many iterations, it's always nice to come back to the original.
