Luce’s recent book, Zbig: The Life of Zbigniew Brzezinski, America’s Cold War Prophet, revisits the life of Kissinger’s great rival—a Polish émigré and National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter—whose strategic vision helped reshape US–China relations and hasten the end of the Cold War.
In conversation with journalist and academic Maya Mirchandani, they reflect on legacy, loyalty, and the delicate art of peace in an unquiet world.

Jérémie Gallon is a lawyer and former diplomat,and a leading foreign policy analyst. He is the author of Henry Kissinger: An Intimate Portrait of the Master of Realpolitik, Georges Pompidou: A Timeless Figure and Diary of a Young Diplomat in Trump's America.

Edward Luce is the US national editor and a columnist at the Financial Times. Luce's biography of Zbigniew Brzezinski Zbig, The life of Zbig Brzezinski: America's great power prophet, was published in May 2025 and is a New York Times bestseller. He has served as the FT’s Washington bureau chief, South Asia bureau chief, capital markets editor, and Philippines correspondent, and was previously a speechwriter for US Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers in the Clinton administration.

Maya Mirchandani is an award-winning broadcast journalist, Associate Professor of Practice, and Head of the Department of Media Studies at Ashoka University. In 2023, she received the New India Foundation Book Fellowship for a multigenerational biography of the Abdullahs of Kashmir, to be published by HarperCollins India. Before academia, she spent twenty-three years at NDTV as a correspondent, anchor, and editor covering politics, diplomacy, and conflict. A two-time recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism, she has also won the Red Ink Award for Human Rights Reporting and the Exchange for Media Broadcast Journalism Award. From 2017 to 2023, she researched extremism, hate speech, and disinformation as a Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation and continues to write as a columnist and analyst for The Wire.
