Flash Butt Welding & Annealing

This flash butt welder is a modern development on a classic machine that has been in production for over 40 years. The B2.5E is a flash welder for steel sheet or bar with a cross sectional area of 2.5in. They are typically used for band saw blade applications. The machine uses a mechanical CAM to determine the start and stop time for the phases of the weld. The machine now uses a Heat Control and PLC to control motion, and the firing of weld current. An HMI is included for easy entry and adjustment, of flash, upset and anneal cycles on the machine without having to program through the weld control.
