RV Water Heater Won't Light

so there i was getting ready to take a shower and i notice the red light on the water heater switch on. that indicates there is a problem. i turned it off and back on after 3 attempts to light the red light came back on. i want to run on gas. didnt try electric... hours later tried again same thing. opened the cover for the water heater and water is squirting out from the drain plug. ok maybe thats the problem lets hope thats the problem. went to remove it and the end came off. the threaded part is still in . what do i do now? i went to the str got a sprinkler extractor tool . nice. it worked put in new plug and sure enough water heater works now.
