Coco Vandeweghe takes on American counterpart Alison Riske in this US Open 2017 first-round matchup.

This is the second time in 2017 that the two have met on a Grand Slam stage. Vandeweghe defeated Riske 6-2, 6-4 in the third round at Wimbledon earlier this year.

Vandeweghe, the third highest-ranked American in the draw (Venus Williams, No. 9; Madison Keys, No. 15) has never made it past the second round at the US Open, but made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and was a semifinalist at the Australian Open.
