Lego unveils new 'smart brick'

Lego bricks, the iconic toy, are about to get an upgrade.

The Lego Group announced this week that its new line of "Smart Bricks" would begin rolling out on March 1.

But what is a Smart Brick and why is it different from a normal 2x4 Lego brick?

A Lego Smart Brick is a new, interactive brick with embedded technology inside. The small plastic bricks will be packed sensors, speakers, lights and an accelerometer to measure how it's being played with.
