We made DIY concrete cone shaped ring holders and jewelry bowls for gifts! Ended up liking them enough that we might need to make some for ourselves 👇 materials & links below! 👇

We needed a few gifts for our family this Christmas so we made some concrete cone shaped ring holders and jewelry bowls instead of buying them. It saved a little money, made the gifts more special (hopefully lol), and we learned a few things in the process (mainly that concrete sands decently well, even though it’s not fun).
We went back and forth on what to make the ring holder mold from. It had to be sturdy enough to hold a shape, waterproof so it does not fall apart when wet, but also flexible enough that it makes a nice cone instead of a teardrop. We ended up using some leftover transparencies which worked well but something even more flexible would have been nice. If we ever make these in larger quantities we’ll definitely be making a mold though.
The concrete jewelry bowls were super easy and super difficult at the same time! Definitely room for improvement here too. The outer bowl popped off easy and we would not change anything there, but the inside shape needs improvement. The easiest solution would be to use something softer on the inside that can be compressed and then popped out. Not sure what it would be though (maybe a rubber ball cut in half?)
In the end we’re really happy with how they turned out and hopefully our family likes them too!
