Feeding time for baby Conure Parrots -- 4 weeks old

Lunch time feeding for the babies. The oldest baby is right at 4 weeks old in this video. The babies eat 4 feedings a day right now and will do so till they start to take their first flights. I feed with a syringe till the babies start to walk around a bit and then I switch to spoon feeding.

I wanted to mention that, although handfeeding may look like it is easy to do, I do not advise the average pet owner to purchase a baby to handfeed themselves. There are alot of things that can go wrong with the actual act of handfeeding, not to mention how important it is to properly fledge and wean your baby. A baby who is not properly weaned and fledged will almost always become a nervous and untrusting bird.

These babies know that they can count on me to feed them and keep them warm and clean. So they trust me and turn to me for comfort now and for fun and playtime as they get older. A well socialized baby parrot has been treated gently and talked to throughout their weaning process. They learn the human voice and touch is comforting. When they go to their new homes they will look for the same comfort and fun from their new family.
