Properly negotiating deals at the final table can have a massive impact on your bottom line. After all, it's quite rare to make such a deep run, and it's final table performance that tips the scales in determining your ROI. Having a good negotiating strategy can give you an edge in MTTs, and players without it can be severely exploited.

The first thing any player should know about deal-making are the types of splits. The two most common are chip chops and ICM chops. One must also choose words carefully, avoiding common pitfalls that can sour a deal. Knowing how to influence people is an extremely useful skill, at the final table as well as in life.
