You could be like “omg my date got me flowers “ he would be like “you impressed cause he bought you some cheap cass flowers, I guess. He’s like this because he’s constantly comparing those other guys to himself. He’s upset that those flowers mean more to you than his romantic feelings.

2. He gets quiet when you start talking about getting physical with any guy.
Anyone who’s ever been in the friend zone knows how heartbreaking it is to hear the love of your life talk about being intimate with someone else. Guys will endure a lot in an effort to pretend to be ok with their friend zone status. They want to be in your life. Even if that means listening to you talk about how a guy kisses or even how he hits it. He’ll be mostly mute as you do it though. He won’t attempt to add much to any conversation that explores your plexinality with other men. He’ll just wait for you to stop talking about it. Or change the subject. 3. He never seems to be saying everything he’s thinking as if he’s holding back.
This because he’s guarding some of his thoughts from you. Most people are empathic enough to know when someone they care for is feeling something but not saying it. If you consistently encounter this with your guy friend and can’t seem to get him to come out with it it’s because the feelings he’s keeping to himself are romantic in nature.

He downplays the seriousness of his relationships and never really talks positively about other females to you. He never wants to appear emotionally unavailable to you. He doesn’t realize that may be the secret to getting you to change your mind about him.
7. If he does get a girlfriend he does whatever he can to keep you away from her. If your guy friend is secretly in love with you, it may manifest itself as distance when he gets a girlfriend. He definitely won’t be up for being around both you and his girlfriend at the same. That’s because his girlfriend would immediately pick up on his feelings for you. Guys are aware of a woman’s ability to just know shit and he wouldn’t want get found out. It would just get him in trouble. He may distance himself to make things a little less awkward for him as he tries to move on or get over you.
