Servicemen Honoured For Amazing Bravery | Forces TV

Courageous servicemen have been honoured for their bravery at a ceremony at Windsor Castle. They represent all three services and are recognised for their extraordinary acts of valour in the face of the enemy. A Distinguished Flying Cross was presented to RAF pilot Flt Lt Christopher Gordon, who helped 30 troops escape heavy fire in Helmand. His Chinook helicopter had just one engine working at the time. The Army equivalent - a Military Cross - goes to Capt John Scarlett of the Coldstream Guards. He was shot during an attack on a Helmand checkpoint but continued to fight to protect his men and repel the enemy. Royal Marine Sgt Anthony Russell gets the George Medal. The helicopter winchman helped save the lives of two yachtsmen, stranded in heavy seas near the Scilly Isles. Dragged under the waves himself, he managed to pull the two men out of danger. Sgt Christopher Bradshaw, a winchman based at RAF Lossiemouth, was awarded a Queen's Gallantry Medal for the rescue of survivors from a mid-air collision.
