The Del Mar Fairgrounds is proud to present the 73rd Annual Del Mar National Horse Show, which has earned worldwide recognition as one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the nation. Three weeks of excellent equestrian competition, spanning three distinct disciplines 0 Western, Dressage and Hunter/jumper – attract horses and riders from across the continent to compete for over $300,000 in cash and prizes.

As we celebrate 73 years of equestrian excellence, the Del Mar National will once again include a number of exhilarating Saturday evening presentations.

Highlighting Western Week is the always popular “Night of the Horse,” featuring Dan James from the Land Down Under. Originally hailing from Queensland, Australia, Dan took the horse world by storm when he won the Way of the Horse at Equitana Asia Pacific, Road to the Horse, the World Championship of Colt starting in Lexington, Kentucky and the 2012 Road to the Horse in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as a member of Team Australia.

Dressage Week highlights include the elegant “Evening of Musical Freestyles,” which highlights Olympic and World Champion horses and riders whose precision and graceful athleticism always astounds. We are proud to announce that The Del Mar National was designated as a selection event for the 2018 World Cup.

Hunter/Jumper Week concludes our show with the $25,000 Surfside Grand Prix, which will be followed by the week’s featured competition, the “$100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar”
