Military Train and CP Switching at Hermon! -10/21/20

On October 21, 2020, I headed over to Northern Maine Junction in Hermon to see the military train that had come down from Brownville the previous night. The train started it's trip at Presque Isle, off the site of the Loring Air Force Base. 39 six axle DODX cars and 76 M-109 self propelled howitzer mobile artillery units make up the train, which is bound for California. In California, these units will either be repaired or scrapped. While I was photographing the train, I heard CP switching, so I decided to go investigate. I found them taking a cut of cars from "The Farm" (the CP yard in Hermon) over to the Pan Am trackage for interchange. I recorded them alongside the military train as they did their shove, and then I recorded them rolling over the military train light engine as they headed back to "The Farm" to do more switching.
