India has witnessed another LPG gas price hike, bringing a fresh financial burden to millions of households. Oil Marketing Companies have increased the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder by ₹60, effective from March 7, 2026.

With this latest hike, the price of LPG cylinders has significantly increased across major cities in India. The 19 kg commercial gas cylinder price has also increased by ₹115, impacting hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.

Delhi: ₹913

Mumbai: ₹912.50

Kolkata: ₹939

Chennai: ₹928.50

Experts say rising global fuel prices and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are the main reasons for this increase. India imports a large portion of its LPG, making domestic prices sensitive to international market fluctuations.

However, under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, eligible households will continue receiving a subsidy of around ₹300 per cylinder, providing some relief.

This LPG price hike has triggered political debate, with opposition parties criticizing the government over rising living costs.
