Balance Bot (eYRC 2016 Winners)

A self-balancing two-wheel robot, based on the principle of the Inverted Pendulum, a classic control theory problem. The robot is based on the ATmega2560 micro-controller, which uses a Cascaded PID control architecture for balancing itself. The tilt angle is measured using the GY80 sensor (fusion of Accelerometer and Gyroscope readings). The position and velocity is measured using Quadrature Encoders. The entire computation loop is run every 20ms. A self-designed joystick controller is used for wireless navigation (XBee Modules) of the robot.

First Prize at National Level e-Yantra Robotics Competition 2016-17, held at IIT Bombay.
