The L298N H-bridge motor controller module - basics
This video shows you how this powerful, yet inexpensive motor controller works to control speed and direction of one servo motor, two standard DC motors, and other inductive loads like relays and solenoids.

Note: Thanks to Chor Hon Yong for pointing out that at 8:55 ENB should correspond with IN3 and IN4, not IN1 and IN2 in the motor truth table.
I’m not an expert, but I have figured it out well enough to make what I think is a pretty clear and complete basic ‘primer’ on this device. Whether it’s right for your project is up to you to determine, but here’s info about the module itself, and especially about the mysterious jumpers (at least they were the biggest mystery to me).

This module is pretty old, and there is a newer, more efficient one available called the TB6612FNG.
