In this latest project, we travelled to Highgate, North London — an area steeped in charm, with winding streets and stunning period homes — to deliver a full front garden wall rebuild for a property in need of both structural support and sympathetic restoration.

This wasn’t just about fixing a boundary wall. In Highgate, where every detail contributes to the elegance of the streetscape, this was about honouring architectural history while ensuring a sturdy and lasting result.

🧱 What we delivered on this project:

🔹 Careful Dismantling & Salvage:
The original wall had seen better days — crumbling mortar, loose bricks, and signs of past patchwork repairs. We dismantled it piece by piece, salvaging original bricks where possible and sourcing matching reclaimed London stock bricks to fill any gaps. This ensured historical accuracy and a harmonious finish.

🔹 Solid New Foundation:
Too many old walls fail because they were built without proper footing. We excavated to the correct depth and installed a robust concrete foundation, reinforced to handle seasonal movement and the test of time.

🔹 Traditional Brick Rebuild:
With the groundwork in place, our team rebuilt the wall using reclaimed materials, laid in a traditional stretcher bond with tight lines, flush joints, and subtle detailing that complements the neighbouring properties. We always aim for a finish that feels like it’s always been there.

🔹 Skilled Pointing for Strength & Beauty:
Our finish included traditional lime pointing, chosen for both appearance and breathability — ideal for older properties. The pointing was carefully tooled to echo the original craftsmanship seen throughout Highgate’s heritage terraces and villas.
