Finding Light and Love in the Darkness: The Upside of Grief | Britta Gullahorn | TEDxBostonCollege

In her talk about college students going through grief, Britta Gullahorn uses her personal story to outline reforms for supporting young people in mourning. Britta advocates for reform among mental health professionals on college campuses and to change attitudes about grief. Britta Gullahorn, from San Diego, CA, is a senior in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Communication and Minoring in Hispanic Studies. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and traveling with BC’s University Chorale. She recently finished her Honors Senior Thesis examining the destructive language used by undergraduate students when discussing drinking and hopes to continue exploring Health communication in future work and/or studies. She aims to address a pressing need for increased and ongoing support for grieving students during the already stressful college period.
