A Look Into The Hyperion Hydrogen Super Car

Hyperion New Hydrogen-powered Electric Supercar Revealed

The start of the decade marked an explosion in the supercar world.  The release of various supercars has never failed to astonish us. Their revelation enable us feel the future.

They are fast,
they are expensive,
they are good looking,
they are comfortable,
they are green
and most especially they are rare.
Gas has been powering our cars since 1983 and the opening of this decade has brought forth cars that not only captured the attention of the masses but changed the way we view the features and functions of automobiles. Most of the 21st Century cars have largely been integrating technology to make the car extra smarter and extra luxurious.
Tesla has been utilizing energy efficiency through the use of solar panels and lithium batteries. Hyperion Companies Inc.entered the race for speculative transportation capital and maybe following the greener vision of Tesla but it is a whole new level. The new Hyperion XP-1 uses the most abundant and lightest element in the world - Hydrogen which is more abundant than fossil fuels.
We already heard car companies like Toyota, Audi, Lexus, Ford, and even Mercedes have been developing hydrogen-powered cars similar to the Hyperion XP-1 but none of them can compete to the outrageous number that the Hyperion can reach.
How will the Hyperion XP-1 top the Toyota Mirai?
The main reason for the flop Mirai sales is due to insufficient refueling stations, and concerns over the risk of hydrogen explosions.
What the company did is they rethink the idea of hydrogen cars after the Rasa Hydrogen car used a super capacitor to store excess power from the fuel cell and braking.
How does it work?
Hydrogen fuel cell cars are electric cars that use hydrogen to generate power inside the car rather than using batteries to store energy. The XP-1 doesn't combust hydrogen but uses it in fuel cells that combine hydrogen with oxygen from the air in a process that creates water, the vehicle's only emission, and a stream of electricity to power the car. Unlike conventional vehicles that run on gasoline or diesel, fuel cell cars and trucks combine hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, which runs the motor. Since they’re powered entirely by electricity, fuel cell vehicles are considered electric vehicles (“EVs”)—but unlike other EVs, their range and refueling processes are comparable to conventional cars and trucks which use lithium batteries. Fuel cells act as an efficient power plant and are smaller and lighter than traditional lithium-ion batteries, allowing the XP-1 to arrive with a weight of just 1032kg.
What makes it extra efficient is it has a 1:1 charge-to-discharge ratio and its super capacitors are not affected by extreme temperatures and it provides consistent performance.
Overheating is absolutely not a problem.
Hyperion CEO Angelo Kafantaris explained this. Also, because hydrogen gas is very light, the overall vehicle weighs much less than one packed with heavy batteries. That, in turn, makes the car more energy efficient so that it can go farther and faster.
The XP-1's carbon-fiber hydrogen tanks will hold enough fuel for 1000 miles of driving at street-legal speeds.
Hyperion can be linked to solar-powered Tesla’s CyberTruck’s and graphene-based-cell powered Mercedes-Benz ‘bionic car’ AVTR when it comes to its sustainability features with Bugatti Chiron’ comparable aspects and engine capacity.
The development of supercars is like a race that shows a variety of features to overpower other developers but this Hyperion car can make them eat its dust.

Its neck-snapping speed and acceleration are comparable to the Bugatti Chiron, Porche 918 Spyder, and Tesla’s Model S P100D that is faster than Ferrari’s LaFerrari’s 2.4 seconds, and Mc Laren P1’s 2.6 seconds.
The futuristic Hyperion's outer stunning design can be matched to the splendor Bugatti Chiron. Its scissor-style doors allow entrance into its cabin, with gesture controls for operating many of the car's features. Its Swollen fenders emphasize the prototype's big wheels and short projections, while turbine-like parts add spectacle to the car's center-mounted exhaust tips and body side trim which appears more likely of fabulous Bugatti’s face. Additional wildly successful design is the XP-1's rear buttresses that bleed from the fighter-jet-like sleek canopy into the body's sides.
This may not be as fast as the Bugatti Chiron But here is another interesting comparison- XP-1 is an EVs that has very fuel-efficient engines unlike hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron which can only take you about 260–300 miles a full tank. While Tesla Model 3 can reach 322 miles and Tesla Model S which can do 370 miles on a full charge.
With 1,000 miles in full tank, Hyperion XP-1 outshines more than 3x the range of a Bugatti Chiron, and certainly a lot further than any Tesla.
XP-1 designs and capacity make an implied rivalry between hypercars Bugatti Chiron as well as Tesla’s Supercars.
