PCI is a life-saving, minimally invasive procedure performed to relieve chest pain, or to minimize or stop a heart attack. Thin tubes (catheters) are inserted into the wrist or groin and threaded up to the heart; here, catheters, wires, balloons, and stents are used to take photos (angiograms) to find and open blockages in the coronary arteries to restore blood flow to the heart.

In our next case, the Amazing Spider-Man 🕷 swung into our cath lab noting progressive chest pain with exertion. A coronary blockage was found, opened 🎈
, and stented - our friendly neighborhood superhero was discharged on blood thinning medication and is expected to resume web slinging soon! 🕸
