Magnitude 3.1 earthquake recorded in Victoria
A magnitude 3.1 earthquake has struck in Victoria’s east.
The tremor was detected near Lakes Entrance in the East Gippsland region just after midnight.
The tremor was felt by 68 residents in surrounding areas.
Victoria SES said there has not yet been any reported injuries or damages.
It comes after the Gippsland towns of Bairnsdale and Sale were issued emergency warnings on Friday following predictions flood waters would rise well above major levels.
