The Half Cent Coin was one of the very first coins that the US Mint released in the early days. In 1793 the half cent coin was one of the first released to the public. It would see multiple redesigns sucha as the Liberty cap half cent, Draped Bust Half Cent, Braided Hair and Classic head half cent coins. In 1857 the coin would see it's last issue, and has been gone from circulation ever since.
