Murphy Lab Artist Series: J.D. Simo

In this debut episode of the Murphy Lab Artist Series, guitarist J.D. Simo talks about some of his musical influences, tells us about what he looks for in a guitar, and plays several of the new Murphy Lab-aged Gibson Custom Shop guitars.

J.D. also talks about his early days as a young guitarist growing up in Chicago and describes how he would take the bus to visit Chicago Music Exchange; it was there that he saw the first Gibson guitar he remembers ever seeing (an SG), and how, at the age of 21, he used the money he earned from a gig he played in Norway to purchase his first Les Paul, which he found in Nashville. As J.D. checks out the new Murphy Lab-aged Gibson Custom Shop guitars, he offers his thoughts about them, and leaves us with the question: “How do you do that, man?”
