Ottawa expects 'relatively few' cases of fraudulent CERB claims, says minister
The Liberal government is proposing legislation that would impose tighter rules for claiming the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), including fines and jail time for those who deliberately lie on applications. Despite the proposed measures, Treasury Board President Jean-Yves Duclos tells Power & Politics that he expects "relatively few" cases of fraudulent claims.
