Teletype BRPE - 1952 Paper Tape Punch

This video shows the operation of a Teletype BRPE paper tape punch from 1952. I built a custom controller to drive the BRPE as it requires 28V 1A per magnet, and there are 9 magnets. This device was initially sold to the US Navy, but was later used in many industries, including printing, machining, computing, and of course communications. The adjusted price from a price list from 1970 to 2020 dollars is roughly $6k USD.
