Sweden: See fires and scattered debris in aftermath of Malmo riots

Burning tyres and scattered debris were seen on the streets of Malmo on early Saturday, following riots sparked by the burning of Quran at hands of far-right groups.

Police officers were seen deployed in the streets of the city located in the south of Sweden, with stones visibly scattered in the streets as well as scores of burning objects.

According to reports, riots were sparked after the burning of the holy Islamic book by far-right groups near a migrant neighbourhood, causing protesters to flock in hundreds.

At least 15 people were detained and several police officers were slightly injured.
